Blue Chip Diesel FMS Box Installation Instructions for Motor Homes, Freightliner Business Class or Ford Medium Duty
INSTALL SHORT RED/BLACK WIRE HARNESS ON INJECTION PUMP.

Find main plug on pump; remove plug from pump by pulling the indented part of the socket straight away from engine while pulling straight back on plug at the same time. Remove screws holding cover on and find wire that is in position 6 and fasten black wire of short red/black harness to this wire with supplied Scotcthlok. Find position 7 and attach small gauge red wire (sent loose with install kit) to that wire with a Scotchlok and run into driver area and attach to short red wire coming from box. Reassemble plug and reinstall on pump. Find TOP pair of wires coming out from under top cover of injection pump and connect red wire from the short red/black harness supplied, to the wire that is closest to the engine block with another Scotchlok. Yes we sent you an extra Scotchlok! Plug long red/black wires coming from box into short harness, colors matching of course! For motorhomes only, plug in long heavy gauge red/black extension cord to short red/black harness. Wait for other wiring to be installed and then run all wires together to front of motorhome.

INSTALL “PHONE STYLE” SHORT HARNESS TO MAP OR BOOST SENSOR.

Locate sensor about ¾ way back on engine; it’s on the same side as the injection pump and it’s under the intake manifold. You can be sure you have the right thing when the harness plug matches! Unplug factory harness from sensor by lifting up on retaining tab and plug short harness into sensor; then plug the factory harness into the other end of our harness. For motorhomes only, when adding phone cord extensions make sure you add even numbers of extension cords or your gauge will not work correctly. Try to make connections weather-proof with electrical tape.
DRILL AND TAP ¼ PIPE THREAD INTO EXHAUST ELBOW.

Install thermocouple and extension cord. Install the red/yellow wires into the green plug on the back of the box. The yellow goes in the hole closest to the side of the FMS box, and the red goes into the other hole. Tighten with small flat bladed screwdriver.
FIND PARKING LIGHT POWER

Locate near dash area. Connect the brown wire there. A fuse tap has been included in the install kit in case you want to use the fuse for this connection.

Install banjo both with sending unit

Remove OEM with supplied unit on supply line of injection pump and attach blue wire from box to sender.

Plug in "phone style" connector extension harness.

Turnkey to "on" and watch the display go through self diagnostics.

Start engine and watch for more self diagnostics.

Play with the left two buttons to access menu choices.

CONFIRM SETTINGS WITH RED BUTTON

Basically the red button is an “OK” button. The next time you go into the menu it will display your settings and you won’t have to reconfirm them with the red button. They stay the same until you change them. When not in the menu the red button turns fuel enhancement on and off.
